Best and Cheap HTMC Solution with Mac Mini!

Hello Youtube, Mac mini serves as a HTMC connected to HDTV over HDMI cable www.monoprice.com or www.monoprice.com + your favorite HDMI cable… As for the Audio, if you don’t care about 5.1 sound, you can go with analog 2.0 stereo after connecting single jack-2-jack (3.5mm) or jack 2 rca for left and right (white + red) Mini Configuration: – 2.16ghz C2D with Nvidia 9400 GPU (good for HD processing) – Paired Apple Remote (I prefer the new aluminum ones) – Fresh 10.6.3 osx installed – Adobe Flash 10.1 RC2 from labs.adobe.com – VLC from http – Perian from perian.org – Flip4Mac from http – Boxee app from boxee.tv – Remote buddy for controlling your mac with single remote (only paid app we need) http Adjustments in system preferences: – Display (set to 720p) – Energy Saver (Computer sleep and display sleep set to NEVER) Uncheck box “Put the hard drives to sleep when possible” Check box “Allow power button to put the computer to sleep” – Bluetooth: Advances tab (UNCHECK “Open Bluetooth assistant at startup when no input device is present”) – Sharing (Enable both Screen Sharing and File Sharing) Configure All remote behaviors in Remote Buddy and there you have it. !!! ert with bitrate of 3600 and audio from AC3 to AAC. Remote Buddy is the app that I use to control it all with a remote control. Now I test Mirow App fire from the core apps such as weather, browser, RSS, and even Netflix adds FrontRow! I will try to make an updated video this week on the new unibody Mini.Haben you questions? comment adam

Sonic: FrontRow will only play what iTunes can. So it is for movies mp4 and m4v. After installing Perian codecs, AVI and MKV will play. But mkv is on FrontRow break bad (if it in 720p or 1080p with multiple audio streams’s). Also, there is no support for subtitles. You can Boxee how it will play everything like VLC, but I prefer its interface for FrontRow. I have just re-encode MKV files to MP4 with Handbrake. What a cool video, I’m testing right now a lot of software for my Media Center on a Mac mini, as you navigate on your Finder menu transparent with this cool? this is a plugin? ? Or an adjustment to try Boxee I hope you understand my English:) Greetings from Switzerland

Hi, I have thought about using my Mac as a media player, but I have issues with playback of the content, not on my Mac Festplatte.1. Is it possible to configure this system to play movie files from a connected hard drive, and if so, I can do with Front Row or do I use Boxee to film content Uhr.2. Does Boxee or Front Row play MKV files than most films I’ve either MKV or AVI.3. How did you configure your Apple Remote to select applications from the Dock? Cheers,

I was thinking about buying a Mac mini and keep iPad, it just how PC at home, and my iPad go.
