End of analog TV in NYC

on Feb14 2011


This is raw video of the 1230pm analog TV shutoff in New York City on 6/12/09. Here, channels 7,11,and 13 turn off their analog signal, channel 4 goes “nightlight” The sound is from channel 7.

    I found a handheld Sony Guardian TV I got as a gift in the early 90s as a child and it is pointless to kaufen.Fuck.

    This is an awesome video rcurrlin this is really a piece of history you’ve recorded on 4 channels! Thank you very much, its kind of sad, these analog signals that have been on for 50 + years in America the number one market to see.

    I live in northern New Jersey and surrounding area is right next to New York and I was at work when this happened. Thank God I have Cablevision IO-TV. I wonder what happens to those analog channels that day and now I know. One thing that is a mystery to me: Do you have a converter box yet?
