Nick looks at selected chunks of the broadcast TV spectrum with a spectrum analyzer. Incidentally, I mis-identified KBWB analog 20 / digital 19 as KOFY in the video. That was their old call sign many years ago. UPDATE! Ironically, since I wrote that, it appears that KBWB may have now reverted to their old KOFY callsign.

@ YT Amishman35 you authorize to do so I’m allowed to do this, but I think that especially because I offer the partnership and they refuse to know, I’m not an intellectual whore. YT was a great idea to commercialization of everything. This is a great way to learn if the peoples of audio intact if they had left some questionable audio. Trust WBM if someone can get it if it tried half as hard to get it. One day they just told me, I am able to make longer videos.
This is seen very instructive for us, what looks like the spectrum (artwork vs). Since you did so before the transition to digital television, we can see how compares ATSC to NTSC. Also useful was the 17-CH activities with a picture of the background noise (monitoring hosts were always curious about what it really is) to demonstrate erhalten.Das phone rings in the background reminds me of 16 mm film by Richard Feynman electromagnetism. you can hear a telephone ringing, someone may respond, Feynman says, “take a message and I’m busy!”
Way to go Nick-5 stars. . . Now I know what it looks like DTV. Do you have an analyzer is coming tomorrow. . Ebay of course! The hope is alive when it counts. I thought we should have a formal funeral for NTSC at some point. Dang, all those years of dealing with the signal! 8VSB ATV ehh? How do you want to do that Thanks again – Bob AB5N
You can take a “director” or something, you are by some additional tires. If you do, you can load long videos.
How have you managed to make a video about 10 minutes load? I have to finally see the spectrum of a digital television signal. . thanks! Excellent video of a spectrum analyzer. 5 stars.
You’re right. I bought it used on eBay. It seems accurate enough, but has a bit of screen burn and the switch is a bit sensitive. I did not notice the lack of screen frame until you said it.
A 8590-series with the bezel around the CRT away – I do not have the HP series, identified by a small piece in the vid!
Each time a channel shift of VHF, UHF (which is more or less unprecedented, of course, but still), it is DXability will fall. But the biggest change is that in the analog days, you could come with less than perfect image and still the sound. Sometimes you might even lose the Chroma, but still a monochrome picture that was ok. With the digital cliff effect, you get everything or nothing. And the threshold for inclusion is relatively high – as I measured, it is about 10 dB S / N.
Who knows what will the digital transition to “DX-ing”? With many of the VHF affiliates (chapter 2 to 13) Conversion to UHF digital signals, it seems the range of the television stations to be reduced. As I child I enjoyed occasional glimpses KHSL-TV (Ch. 12) from Chico from the eastern edge of the San Francisco Bay Area. KSBW-TV came in strong on most days. Sacramento analog stations was very good. But now Sacramento reception for digital channels is very poor.
