On Saturday 20th June VK3RTV was on air testing the new Digital Transmitter. This test was arranged to give active ATV Amateurs a chance to upload vision using the analogue path and have the vision re-compressed and transmitted as a DVB Signal. Also Amateurs and SWL’s were able to tune up Digital TV Receivers and Set-top Boxes. This video is only a short segment from the test that lasted for about 90 minutes. Equipment used. Receiver was an RCA TRC501AU Std. Def. Set-top Box feeding into an external USB capture device so there is some video loss. Although the DVB transmitter is capable of transmitting Audio all of the test stations were liaising using 2m simplex so there is a one second delay due to the compression from the analogue uplink to the DVB downlink. VK3RTV Digital will be on air permanently around late July early August 2009.

@ Videbus Not sure where you live, but I would love the melody Arista STB for Sie.Nach above it can from your site are working. Most STB’s have at least 50% signal before they shoot one, does not seem to mind is the strong SRT5405E on. According to Strong it was not to tune the frequency, but in our experience it is one of the better STB’s for RTV reception. The other option is if you have a friend with a good view of Mt. Dandy visit them and tune the STB is.
Yes, I have a ARISTA set-top box that can see the signal at 30%, but no signal quality. Needless to say, it will not be voting in. I also bought a DSE box that they said would work but still no luck. Mind you, was my Analog to VK3RTV very weak, and I’m just using a standard antenna orientation amplfied in advertising. But I miss seeing VK3RTV since digital. If you have not seen any ATV went for analog. Boo!
I have a webcam, Skype and YouTube for all my digital TV needs. I have hundreds of spectators and possibly millions more, often beyond the reporting 3RTV. It does not have a ham license. It is open to everyone. And – most importantly – because I use the computer for my work, computer-hardware-tax income to be written into account. This is a great incentive not to go with the ham option. Furthermore, does digital is not to experiment or brew at home, where my interest lies.
Hi Chris, as I have said to you when you go to Jacar STBs for only 29th $ 95 and should be on your QTH with a beam VK3RTV come in BATC S5
I have two set-top boxes (including a Teac DV-B300) and a digital TV (Nu-tec 48cm). No one can get VK3RTV. As already mentioned, the setting of the analog transmission makes me enormously unimpressed, and take the unwillingness of the group, taking into account the people in my position is as enttä deceptive.
No, the analog signal air went out shortly after the second test. If you live in the Bendigo area, then the old analog amplifier now services Gegend.Cheers, the operator still using analog uplink but only VK3RTV Digital. There are quite a few stations with digital uplink haben.Cheers but due t the cost of the transmitter is only about 1 / 3 of this mode, Jack.
Is there an analog broadcast signal?
Just Google VK3RTV and I think it will be the second hit. There is information as you also get a list of known STB that Neuling.Hope this helps, Jack.
Forgive me, but how can you pick up VK3RTV-1? I live in Reservoir
Thanks mate.
Do a Google on “Brisbane ATV group” Cheers, VK3W-WW Jack.
I think you will notice that left the old analogue TV Digital Repeater Brisbane. Try manually tuning your STB or digital TV to 426th 25 you have to manually set it and there must be a carrier for your gift recipient to the station at Castle is hope this helps. Cheers, Jack.
We also had a VK4RTV in Brisbane for a short time that was just a test panel in December 1999. Does anyone know if there is any amateur TV services is still happening in Brisbane?
This is very interesting stuff, I’m pretty impressed. So basically amateur television is just people talking to each other on television receive?
Hi Chris, you said this month (see list) hope all is well, Jack.
No, but (1) my Teac DV-B300-top box receives no ATV set frequency, (2) the four hectare metal roof on a Melbourne Water reservoir header makes me gross multipath (3) the inhA ; pension latency and delay, the DV signal with respect to a real-time audio liaison is an almost insoluble problem with DV, (4) perhaps most importantly, to discuss the lack of readiness of the ATV group , even analogous retention for people in my position eliminated my desire for further participation.
Actually, I’m 100km south of Mildura that would be a problem because I can not imagine there would be no way repeater in my area are.
Can not enter web addresses here, but a search for “VK3RTV” and follow the “Geocities” link there are a lot of information, how to reach there on ATV. To transfer, you need an advanced amateur license. The transfers will not be entertaining. If you still can see your current TV to 444 250MHz This should give you an idea of what kind of programs there. The repeater is not very active, could take so in the mood for some time. If it goes Didital, then you must vote 446th 5MHz.Cheers, Jack.
Can you give me a website with some details of what I would need for equipment Amateur TV, By the way, what you dü , DO watch TV actually on amateur because I have that every kind of music would be banned because of copy write intended.
Diffraction problems around a header Melbourne Water Reservoir Roof Design (5 hectares of it!) Plus agree to my Teac DV-B300 Set Top Box, the inability that some of the band is not digital make-goer for me and I’m sure I’m not the only one. I really have not enough interest in a set top box Specifically for VK3RTV. I repeat my comment: digital produces large images when I get it, and it has other disadvantages, such as the latency problem.
Chris, which was mentioned in the information file. I had it explained to me that if you run RTV 70cm and 2m simplex, there is no Lipsynch as the TV station sends along with the audio-vision, and it should sync the audio signal sein.Ich cut from Bildträ , eng audio was like the second repeat in the verwirrend.VK3RTV should punch in the QTH, you have a lot of shielding from the radio tower in the Nähe.Jack.
The latency delay of digital video transmission by the analog channel liaison out of sync with him, is one of the many problems that digital transmission is replaced instead. I have no objection to the DV-transfers, but I think that all the planned shutdown of the analog would be foolish and shortsighted. VK3RTV uses much less power than “pro” TV stations, and for many people – like me – sigs are too low for digital reception. VK3AML – More thought should be indicated.
